My Bastard Days
You've come to the wrong place, but for all of the right reasons.

Alright, I've been trying to write some text for this that sounds hard-boiled and cool, but I can't because I'm just really excited.

Rob Bohl, or the [info]indie_insurgent , is the host of the role-playing game design podcast the Independent Insurgency.  I was luck enough to sit down with him and talk about my upcoming game Criminal Element.  Criminal Element is a heist movie role-playing game where players take on the roles of the members of a crew, working a job of their own design while trying to fight their inner demons.  We talked about the game, the process of design, the Star C. Foster Writer's Prize, and how much I have a man-crush on Judd Karlman.

If you want to hear me talk about my game, or just see how loud my laughter actually is, you can go right here to download it and check it out.

A great big thank you to Rob for taking the time to sit down with me and talk about the game, as well as all of the time that he spent editing the recording.  And a gigantic thank you for all of you people that listen to the podcast!

I might recommend that you link to the post rather than the media file, so people know how large & long the episode is before downloading it. Also, Rob Bohl's shownotes are badass.

Good call, Ryan. The link has been updated to send people over to Rob's LJ post.

And you couldn't be more correct about Rob's show notes. His attention to detail is a couple of steps beyond astounding.

Yeah, he took the Tevis approach and went nuts with it. I mean, I'm widely regarding in the podcastosphere as "that guy who spends more time editing a 30 minute show that I would my hour-long one," and I'm not willing to do what Rob does. :)

I actually listened to it this morning before I went to work. You sounded great Michael. Of course, you know, I didn't understand most of the gaming reference. But you sounded good. and I heard you mention Star and the Writers Prize.

Thanks for listening, Momma! I'm glad you enjoyed it, even with all of the dorky references and asides.

As for Star's charity, that came up completely by accident. We were talking about my buddy Judd, another game designer and one of the guys that donated for the auction, and wound up talking about Star and stuff because of that.

And we'll have to sit down and talk about the "proceeds to charity" thing. I don't really know how that will work and I'd like to figure that out with you guys.

Love you.

Hey man, it was great having you on the show. I warned Judd he was in for a 5 minute audio blow job and he complained that wasn't enough time.
